Concrete Void Filling in Charleston, SC

Our Services

Stop Settlement Before It Starts

Voids beneath concrete slabs are one of the leading causes of concrete settlement — and in Charleston's sandy, high-moisture coastal soil, they form faster than most homeowners realize. Water erosion, soil compaction, and shifting ground conditions create hollow spaces beneath your driveways, sidewalks, garage floors, and patios. Left unfilled, those voids grow until the slab above them sinks, cracks, or collapses. Void filling with polyurethane foam stops that process before it becomes a much larger repair.

Common Problems We Fix

Our Process — Polyurethane Foam Injection

We identify void locations using probing and visual inspection, then drill small access holes through the slab at the void points. High-density polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete, expanding to completely fill the void and compact the surrounding soil. The foam cures in minutes, providing a solid, waterproof foundation. Access holes are patched and the slab is immediately stable.

FAQ

How do I know if I have a void under my concrete?

Common signs include a hollow sound when you tap on the concrete, slight flexing or movement underfoot, unexplained cracking, or visible gaps at slab edges. The only way to confirm and map voids accurately is with a professional inspection — we provide these as part of our free estimate.

Not exactly. Concrete lifting is performed when a slab has already settled and needs to be raised. Void filling is used to stabilize the soil and fill empty spaces beneath a slab that has not yet sunk — or to reinforce the area after lifting to prevent future settlement. Many jobs include both.
Most void filling jobs are completed in a few hours. The polyurethane foam cures within 15–30 minutes, and the slab is immediately stable and ready for use.

Polyurethane foam is lightweight (unlike concrete grout, which adds significant load to already compromised soil), waterproof, and expands to completely fill irregular void shapes. It will not erode or wash away over time the way cement-based slurries can.
